On 10th December 1948, the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This year, the UN LGBTI Core Group commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the signing of the UDHR by demonstrating how LGBTI people are protected by five selected Articles of the Declaration.

Article 5: No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment.
